KOI

Koi have been specifically bred by the Japanese for hundreds of years, although it is the Chinese that originally started breeding koi. Koi carp can be very expensive and require a specific set of rules to thrive in a pond. The average koi can reach between 24-

36″, some jumbo varieties even reaching 52″! We offer professional advice in store on how to get the best out of your koi pond.

Basic rules of keeping koi:

• The pond must have a depth of at least 1m (3 feet).
• A very powerful filter is needed to cope with the amount of waste they produce.
• Test your water regularly – we offer a free water testing service.
